Some Information regarding the Use of the Church Buildings and Facilities
The Athelstone Uniting Church is used by quite a few hirers both casual and regular – this helps us become more community aware and assists the community knowing who and where we are. We are often referred to as the “church opposite the shopping centre” – AUC is highly recognisable and visible in the area.
Regularly three times a week Kiralee Luestner is using the Top Hall for her “Reach your Feet” fitness classes, U3A has two Yoga classes in the main auditorium each week and AUC hosts a Calisthenics’ club in that area one evening a week.
Rotary and Neighbourhood Watch also hold their regular meetings in the Lower Hall and Chapel through the year.
We have a music school concert and other casual hirers, sometimes service groups for ‘one off’ events in our auditorium or hall.
“Church people” use the facility too, for special birthdays, get togethers and family events. In addition, of course, we have regular use by groups belonging to or facilitated by the AUC Congregation members like “Stay and Play Playgroup, ToFS, Friendship Group and meetings of Church Council and other groups“. The Christmas Tree Festival bi-annually and of course Packing Day this year both used the whole facility for several days.
