Greetings and welcome to this week’s newsletter.
A Note from Linda
At the time of writing (Thursday), there are 4 sleeps to go til Christmas Day (3 til Christmas Eve!!)! There are so many things to prepare before then. This season of Advent is speeding up and building momentum: the time of waiting and preparation are compacting now into just a few days and it’s hard not to feel a tad stressed!
In addition to Christmas celebrations, Paul and I have been focused on preparing for our move in to the manse. This has been a time of decluttering, making tough decisions and packing. My time off in January will be all about joining Paul in the final packing, the move, the unpacking and then the preparation of our home for rental.
I know I’m not the only one who has lots to prepare, a big list of tasks to tick off, a variety of different events to plan for and lots of shopping (and packing) left to do. Sharyn gently reminded me this week that it’s important that we don’t lose our focus on the reason for this time of year. And she’s right. (Thanks Sharyn!) We are about to celebrate the coming of the Prince of Peace! Isaiah 9:6 (NIV)
For to us a child is born, to us a son is given,
and the government will be on his shoulders.
And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
So I am going to be intentional about finding a few quiet moments in the coming days to reflect on what the gift of Jesus coming in to the world means for me. I hope you too can take some time out to do so for yourself! Shalom!

Building Stewards and helpers
You may all have a break from moving the chairs after Worship, as there are no hirers that require the auditorium cleared until 24th January. Well done and thank you for doing this job each week
December 25 – Christmas Day
Merry Christmas from Act for Peace! Thank you for your gifts which will bring hope and healing to the world this Christmas! As a refugee, Praveena couldn’t afford the treatment for her granddaughter’s leukaemia. She thought all hope was lost. But, your support through the Christmas Bowl has changed all that! Please help other refugee children receive lifesaving medical care so that they can have a healthy future. Just $210 can provide lifesaving medical treatment for families who don’t have access to basic healthcare.
