Ministry at Athelstone
We are very pleased and excited to announce that Rev. Linda Driver has officially accepted the call to be the minister at Athelstone Uniting Church from the 1st of September 2017. Linda will be inducted into the role at a special service held at the church on Wednesday the 30th of August at 7:30pm. Afterwards there will be a shared supper. Please mark the date in your diaries. All are welcome!
News from Church Council
On Tuesday evening we held our latest meeting to discuss the business of the church:
- Bruce and Joy Stewart shared with us about the progress in the Wirra, reflecting on the journey up to this point and where to next. Please have a wander and check out all the amazing changes that are happening.
- Ruth Carter was appointed as acting Church Council Secretary whilst Mike O’Connell is away. Thanks Ruth for volunteering your time and expertise!
- The Audit of AUC finances for 2016 was received and accepted.
- Get excited – in July we are going to be talking about stewardship!

Visit of Frontier Services Minister
We welcome to our service this morning Paul Glazbrook, Frontier Services Minister of the Sturt and Parkin Patrol and his wife Robyn. Paul will be sharing the Frontier Services story and preaching. Afterwards he and Robyn will be able to chat with us over a special morning tea. Please bring finger food to share.
There will also be a retiring offering to support the patrol ministry.
Tickets selling well for the August 5th BBQ
Invite your friends to join you and be early in getting your tickets for the winter BBQ to be held at Allan and Deb’s home on August 5th. This is going to be a great night with entertainment, excellent food and a wonderful atmosphere. All for $25 . If possible car pool to help with parking. Tickets available today from Friederike, Barbara, Ann & Don. Brian.
Proceeds to support our Kiribati Fresh Water project.
We’re meeting together at Elbios on July 4th, so wear some stars, stripes or a touch of red, white and blue.
