Greetings and welcome to this week’s newsletter
A Note from Linda
Well here we are at the end of another hot week in our part of the world. It’s the last week of our ‘Sun-drenched summer” and we will be looking at the Transfiguration.
Come join us as we’ll metaphorically head up on to the mountaintop to be dazzled by the light of Jesus.
Sunday Evening Services
Each Sunday we have been gathering for Worship at 6pm in the Chapel. This coming Sunday (11 Feb), following a brief Communion service, we will be meeting over a light BBQ dinner to talk about possible new initiatives for this service. If you are passionate about this service and have ideas you’d like to share (and maybe even facilitate), come join us. For more information, contact Linda.
Please note that Linda’s ministry days have changed. She is now available Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. It’s always a good idea to call ahead if you’re planning to pop in to the church office to see her.
Just to remind you all, the diary of bookings for the whole facility is available on the admin desk for anyone thinking about available times for an event, as is a message book if you need to contact admin staff and volunteers.
If you intend to use the facility for any purpose don’t forget to check the diary on the desk in the admin area for availability and please write in your event.
If you borrow items e.g. tables, chairs etc please write the details in the diary – it is good to know where “they” have gone! If you are using part of the building, check the lights, fans, heaters are turned off and the facility is secure when you leave. Thank you Sharyn
Interim Office Arrangements
The office will be staffed Tuesdays and Wednesdays (9.30-12.30) for the next six weeks, while Sharyn is on sick leave.

Bibles for Bubs
Here’s a lovely way to bless families with a newborn to one-year-old and encourage their faith development:
The Bible Society is gifting 1,000 babies born between 1 January 2017 and 7 March 2018, a free Read and Share Toddler Bible. Parents, grandparents, great-grandparents or carers can apply for the Bible.

The first meeting of the Church Council for 2018 was held with a focus on organisational matters so as to meet obligations of the Uniting Church Regulations and to give a solid foundation for the year ahead. The main items were:
- Office bearers elected (re-elected): Victoria Pederick as Chairperson, Michael O’Connell as Secretary, and Glen Luestner as Treasurer.
- An ‘Executive Group’, comprising Victoria, Linda, Mike and Glen, was established to assist and advise the Council, expeditiously address administrative and operational matters.
- Foreshadowed Portfolio Teams
Last year was significant in many ways including the selection and appointment of the new Minister, addressing financial issues and renovating the Manse property. Church Council looks forward to the year ahead as one of increased discipleship, spiritual growth and service according to God’s call. Your ongoing support and involvement is essential in this mission. Please speak with Church Council members for further information.
