Sunday 15th April 2018
Greetings and welcome to this week’s newsletter
A Note from Linda
This week we’re looking at doubt and questions and we’ll hear about the times when Jesus appeared to the disciples after having risen from death. In John 20, we hear the story of how Thomas was invited by Christ to touch his wounds. Somehow he is still known as ‘doubting’ Thomas – I wonder if we might consider honest Thomas, courageous Thomas, even Tenacious Thomas?
Let’s examine together what it means to ask questions and to honestly face our doubts.
Blessings, Linda

Church Office and Administrative Support Person role
Over the past 8 weeks whilst Sharyn has been on sick leave, our church office has been staffed by a dedicated group of volunteers. They have done a wonderful job and we greatly appreciate all of their efforts. Unfortunately, Sharyn’s shoulder is not healing as quickly as her physio would like and has advised Sharyn that she needs more time to recover before returning to work. In the interim, we are seeking to employ someone for the Casual Administrative Support Person role.
The successful applicant will fulfil all duties as outlined in the position description, which is available from the Chairperson (Victoria Pederick) upon request. This person will report directly to Church Council. Job sharing will be considered.
If you are interested, we invite you to apply by providing a short CV, which includes details of your skills and relevant experience, in addition to a 1 page cover letter outlining your reasons for applying for the position, to the Chairperson of the Church Council ( victoria.pederick@gmail.com ) by 5pm on Monday the 16th of April.
Our Church Newsletter
.. will be collated and sent out on Wednesday, instead of Thursday. So any notices to be included must reach the Church Office ( newsletter@athelstonechurch.org.au ) by 9.30 am Wednesday.
