Sunday 22 July 2018
Greetings and welcome to this week’s newsletter

A Note from Linda
“Let all that I am praise the Lord; with my whole heart, I will praise his holy name. Let all that I am praise the Lord; may I never forget the good things he does for me. He forgives all my sins and heals all my diseases. He redeems me from death and crowns me with love and tender mercies. He fills my life with good things. My youth is renewed like the eagle’s!” (Psalm 103:1-5)
I want to thank Glen Luestner for reading all of Psalm 103 to church council for our devotion this week. It was a wonderful example of how the Psalms provide for us a prayer language for all the seasons of our life. As we look back on recent weeks, these words speak to many in our church family who have seen and experienced answers to prayer. We have so much to be thankful for! I encourage you to explore the Psalms for yourself, in whatever translation you prefer! Blessings, Linda

This Week
This Sunday morning (July 22) we will have guest preacher Alexandra Bingham from UnitingWorld.
In the evening, we’ll head off on our monthly Prayer Walk – meet in The Rezz carpark at 6pm for an easy walk around Thorndon Park, while praying for our community (to be led by Lee O’Connell).
Note: This will be Linda’s rostered Sunday off.

Next Sunday July 29
Sunday (July 29) is the 5th Sunday of the month when we try to do things a little differently in our morning service. This time we plan to give you a little taster of Messy Church: Messy Church is church for families who may not find other forms of church appealing and who don’t yet belong to a church. It is typically held once a month, includes hands-on creative experiences, a celebration and a meal. It does not prioritise either the needs of children or adults but intentionally welcomes and provides for all ages. Our hope is that in the near future, we will begin our own Messy Church that will meet on Sunday evenings. So, on the 29th, we plan to give you a preview of what this new ministry could be like. Come expecting things to be a little different that morning!
In the evening, we will meet at The Rezz at 6pm to debrief our Messy Church experience while we share a meal together.
