Pastoral Care at Resthaven
Cate Baker spoke well with us on Palm Sunday about her work in chaplaincy with Resthaven aged care. Some members have felt that they may wish to support that work with pastoral visiting.
I’ve invited Cate to come to AUC and meet with interested folk next Thursday (27th April) for an information session.
She can be available at either 11.00am or 2.00pm. Let Geoff of Sharyn know if you are interested and at what time.
From Church Council
“Easter – what a special time in the Christian Church calendar. Athelstone held three very different and complementary services over the period. Feedback so far has been very positive on each of the services, but we love to have your thoughts too. A big thank you to all those who co-ordinated, led and contributed in so many ways to the services.
Church Council met on Tuesday night and progressed through a sizable agenda with the following items of particular note:
- Arrangements are now in place for the audit of the Church’s financial statements over the next month or so.
- A Building Surveyors and Certifying firm (BuildSurv) is to do a survey and report on the building condition and safety aspects of the Church complex to inform future improvements and maintenance.
- Continuing discussions are occurring surrounding the formation of Portfolio Groups to carry out and advance church activities in the areas of Worship, Pastoral Care, Outreach, Finance, Facilities and Wider Mission.
We all would like to welcome back Geoff Hurst from his sick leave and continue to wish him a sound recovery.
Church Council appreciates your ideas, continuing support and most importantly prayers in progressing God’s call.”
