A Note from Linda!
At the time of writing this note I have been part of this congregation for a whole 21 days! In that time I have started to get to know some of you, explore how we worship together and how we make decisions together and settle in to my office. It has been a steep learning curve, made easier by many helpful people who have been supportive in lots of ways, from wearing name tags through to spending time with me telling me your stories. Thank you!
Along the way though there have been a few challenges or delays – things that are normal when moving to a new role. Setting up my mobile phone and computer for example have taken time and patience. Some people call these ‘first world problems’. There have been times, I confess, when my natural inclination has to been to have a whinge.
We can find examples of God’s people whinging about their circumstances throughout the Bible. Each time, God responds with abundant grace. Isn’t it amazing how God patiently listens to our grumbling and still graciously provides all we need? I am so thankful for this placement, for new beginnings, for the beauty of this area, for instant communication through modern technology and for our wonderful God who loves me even when I forget to be thankful!
