Sunday, 3rd September 2017
As we welcome Linda and Paul into our Community I would like to remind you to be diligent in wearing your name badge each week. Dean and I have moved into many congregations, including Athelstone, and know how difficult it is to remember so many new names. People only introduce themselves once or twice and after that the new comers are on their own. While it may seem a small thing it makes a huge difference to feeling welcome.
I encourage you to be diligent in this. Nola Pearce
Kiribati Fresh Water Project
Thanks to the initiative of Jeff and Jeanine last Sunday and a couple more donations we received, we have now reached $2425 towards our target figure of $2500 for the Fresh Water project. Let’s see if we can reach or pass our target this Sunday ! The people of Kiribati will be grateful for whatever we send them.
Recent news is that Naracoorte congregation ( with whom we are joined in promoting the Fresh Water project ) has been told that further progress has been made in putting into place the means of fresh water delivery via a special paint coating on roofs and gutters and the provision of concrete (or brick) water tanks.

ToFs – It’s SHOEBOX time again!
Ladies are asked to bring their goods to our next meeting this coming Tuesday, September 5th for packing. We will meet at the Church at 2 pm.
We have received a number of items from neighbouring Churches, to ‘kick start’ our boxes.
These consist of a good number of girls’ skirts, shoulder bags for both boys & girls and a large number of pencil cases. We also have a bag full of knitted teddies.
Any queries please contact Jenny Riggall, as Ros will be away on holidays. Phone 8395 0112
Cans of Food
Cans of Soup, Baked Beans, Casserole type meals, etc. are very welcome to be donated to Uniting Communities who in turn distribute them to those in need. Please leave any contributions at the back of the church.
Shoe Boxes of Love
I have the brochures and boxes for these; if you would like one, just let me know.
Although we will not be collecting them until late September/early October you could already be sewing, knitting or buying. Thank you for your past involvement in this program. Any questions please talk to Friederike 0458078839
