Christmas Bowl- Week 2   Vanuatu Disaster Preparation
Last year’s Cyclone Pam was only one of of natural disasters that have struck the island of Vanuatu in recent years.
People in Vanuatu are frequently affected by extreme weather events like this, which can have a devastating impact on houses, farms and businesses, leading to poverty and loss of livelihoods.
Act for Peace  has been working in partnership with the Vanuatu Christian Council on a Disaster Risk Reduction program, to create safer, more resistant Pacific Island communities in the face of natural disasters.
Your donation to the Christmas Bowl will be supporting this vital ministry.
Please use the envelopes that are available in the porch and place your gift in the offering bag By mid January. Donations of $2 or more are tax deductible.
Useful Gifts for Christmas
Don and Brian will have catalogues and cards available today.
Each gift you buy contributes directly to projects that seek a new tomorrow for communities living in poverty.
Everything in Common Catalogue
As an alternative to the Useful Gifts catalogue of the Tear Fund there are copies of the Everything in Common catalogue of Uniting World in the foyer for those who would like to buy a gift  for a needy community or family in the Pacific,Asia and Africa regions this Christmas.  For further information talk to Brian Ball.
