Sunday 5 August 2018

Greetings and welcome to this week’s newsletter

A Note from Linda

Thanks to everyone who came to our Messy Church Taster last Sunday morning.  It was fun, it was messy, it was worshipful, it was different.  Why did we do it?  So that you would get a taste of what Messy Church is like and catch the vision for this new thing that we would like to offer to families.  At the debrief on Sunday evening, we were greatly encouraged by your feedback – thank you!

So, that leads to an announcement… drum roll…. Our first ever Messy Church will be held on Sunday 9th September, from 4-6pm  Please pop it in your diaries and think about who you could invite.  (Messy Church is church for families who may not find other forms of church appealing and who don’t yet belong to a church.  Messy Church values are: Christ-centred, All-age, Creativity, Hospitality and Celebration.)

This week, at 9.30am and 6pm we resume ‘normal programming’. We’ll continue on with our theme (Jesus: Bread of Life) and we will acknowledge and pray for all those engaged in lay ministries in our church and community.

Can’t wait to see you there.

Blessings, Linda

Dates for Term 3  –  14th August,  28th August,  11th September,  25th September

What a wonderful excitement there was on deck as families arrived and expressed how much they missed us over the long break!  With some families moving to new homes and new families arriving it was a busy morning but everyone enjoyed the “campfire” theme and the special treats !  Maybe you would like to join us in this amazing outreach to our local community.  All offers are welcome and will help our regular team members take a break now and then.

A Stitch in Time

We have had a request from a Stay and Play parent to purchase a smock and a library bag.  If there is anyone who likes sewing and would like to make several smocks or library bags, we could offer them to parents for a small cost perhaps as a fundraiser.  Contact Joy Stewart if you are interested in this task.
