Cans of Food

It’s getting cold and I am sure that you are thinking about having soup to warm you up!   Cans of Soup, Baked Beans, Casserole type meals, etc. are very welcome to be donated to Uniting Communities who in turn distribute them to those in need.   Please leave any contributions at the back of the church.

2017 Christmas Tree Festival

Our first meeting for the 2017 CTF was held on Monday night and planning is well underway for the event
(23-26th November).     We are looking for assistance in putting the festival together (both with planning and throughout the festival) and would love it if you volunteered.
Please contact Julie Goldsmith on 0418 811 556 or thegoldies2@bigpond.com if you are interested.

With Love to the World

The Pentecost edition of this devotional resource has been delivered.  The cost is $5.00 per quarter – four months.  What a bargain!   Please pick up your ordered copies in the foyer.   As usual there is an envelope attached for your remittance which can be put in the offering for ease of payment.   We have been sent some additional copies so if you had been thinking about a daily devotion this is a good way to commence.  Talk to Geoff or Sharyn to get your copies soon.

Packing Day

Packing Day is happening again this year.
We will be collecting, sorting and packing on Sunday 4th, Mon 5th and morning of Tues 6th June.  Athelstone is packing for 4 Northern Territory coastal communities so the majority of our requirements will be summer weight clothing
However, Mens and Boys jeans and slacks will be suitable. Also light weight jumpers and cardigans for all ages and gender would be appropriate.  Other items that can be collected include:
Beanies for all ages. Manchester (cotton rugs; not heavy woollen blankets or dunas). Books, sewing aids, toys, toiletries, Good News bibles. Goods can be dropped at the church on the afternoon of Sunday June 5th 12 – 4pm and Mon 6th in the morning. If you are able to help at the church on any of the days ie Sunday, Monday and Tuesday morning please let me know. Pass the word around to your friends and families for donations, in particular lighter weight garments and plenty of menswear
Many Thanks,  Ros Howland
