ToFs

Our next meeting is  Tuesday 11th October at 2pm at the church. (Note change of date)
We will be filling shoe boxes for children overseas to receive at Christmas. Please bring along suitable items for boys and girls aged 3 to 12 years and we will pack the boxes over a cuppa and chat. All women welcome.  Jenny and Ros

Shoeboxes   It is time to start packing your own shoeboxes!

Remember to pack something for a child to love; to wear; to play with; for school; for personal hygiene and something special.   Brochures and boxes are available after church. Cash donations are also welcome to help with the cost of sending the boxes to their new homes. The collection date will be sometime in October. If you can help in any way or need more information then please ask.   Friederike

Thanksgiving Service in the Garden for “Our Patch”

On Sunday 30th October – we are planning an inclusive service on our deck and in our front garden  connecting with others in our area with similar values.
This event  will be with a Thanksgiving for gardens and our environment.  Plan to meet at 9.30am in the church for a cuppa, before the service in the Garden at 10.00am and then morning tea afterwards.  Bring a plant as a focus for our worship.  You are invited to a byo picnic at the Maryvale Oval to complete the day together.

Fete & Garage Sale – to be held this year on November 5th – 7am –Hope you are all looking forward to the Fete and Garage Sale coming up just a month away.  If everyone can have a sort through/spring clean to identify any saleable items they may like to donate that would be much appreciated.
Come and enjoy all the usual Stalls, Second hand goods, second hand clothes, Bric-a-brac, Plants, Cakes, BBQ, Fruit & Veg, Drinks & Busking.   We are hoping that everyone in our church – will help in some way to make the day a great success.

Stay & Play are planning some children’s activities, on the day of the Fete & Garage Sale, among them “cook in the nook”, a “musical fence” and “bubbles” sounds like fun!!  Please start saving small plastic bottles, (spring water type) to assist with the bubble blowing.  What about “yarn bombing the trees in the garden to brighten up the precinct?  We could do with donations of blue, green or white yarn (“ ocean colours” ) and knitters, no technical skill required, long straight scarf type is what is needed. There is a box in the church foyer for yarn donations.  Talk to Joy Stewart if you wish to be involved.
