Come and join us with your preschoolers and babies on alternate Tuesdays (even weeks of school term) from 10-00 a.m. to 11-30 a.m. at Athelstone Uniting Church, corner of Fox Avenue & Kantilla Drive Dates for 2017- Term 2 – 6th June -20th June – 4th July.
New Links  We have welcomed new families to Stay and Play again this term. It is pleasing to see that we are forging links with the Calisthenics Group that are using the church as well as our banner continuing to draw local families to us. There is a possibility that Bruce and Joy will be away on a REVISE trip early next term, as well as probably losing Michael for the rest of the year.  With the increasing enrolments, we would really appreciate some more helpers on the team, so even if you only feel you can support us for one session, please speak to either Bruce or Joy.  Families continue to give us great feedback of their appreciation of the “team effort” involved and we know we are making a difference to young families’ lives. Wirra Words of the Week
Natural rainfall is never enough for a garden.  Natural rainfall is enough for a wirra.”  Wal Bushman.  Correa glabra var.turnbullii (narrow bell correa), is the more common and widely distributed relation to last month’s plant Correa glabra var.leucoclada(rock correa).  It is found on rocky hills and plains in dryer habitat.  It’s flowers are red with green tips, and the leaves are smoother rather than the hairy almost whitish underside of the rock correa.  They also flower mainly in winter, are easily propogated by cuttings, are adaptable to pruning, and will attract honeyeaters to your home garden

Membership Records 2017 Update
Thanks to everyone who has helped by giving us updated details on their membership status. This will make it easier for us to do several things…. It will make voting for a new minister easier at our congregational meeting on the 4th of June.  It will help us keep track of our members for purposes of pastoral care and it will help us in understanding our discipleship.  If you still wish to help get our records clear and have yet to do so then please email or call myself or Sharyn in the office (office@athelstonechurch.org.au) Geoff Hurst

 Cans of Food
Cans of Soup, Baked Beans, Casserole type meals, etc. are very welcome to be donated to Uniting Communities who in turn distribute them to those in need.   Please leave any contributions at the back of the church.
