Campbelltown Parade and Carols

Campbelltown Parade and Carols

On Sunday December 8th we will join in the City of Campbelltown Christmas Parade followed by Carols at Thorndon Park.

Athelstone Uniting Church needs as many of you as possible to join in with the Campbelltown Council Christmas Parade. The Parade will be taking place this Sunday. The theme is ‘Joy to the World’ and we are going to be spreading the Christmas spirit using Allan Amber’s truck as the centre piece, hopefully betopped with Christmas trees and featuring a singer doing some Christmas standards. We will be marching with Campbelltown Uniting who are preparing candy canes to hand out and are hoping to have a colourful banner ready for us to carry. We are asking you to wear Christmas colours and look festive.
Participants need to be in place at Steve Woodcock Sports Ground on corner of Whites Lane and Stradbroke Road Newton by 4.30pm, entering from the Montacute Rd end of Stradbroke Rd Newton. We are allocated position 22 in the parade. The parade proceeds at a very slow walking pace and is fairly short so should be manageable for most people! If you are keen you are also welcome to come to Messy Church beforehand where you can make your own ‘Joy stick’ or sheep mask! You’d also be welcome to help decorate the truck around the same time!
Please consider participating. We would love to see you there!
